Dear Top Trumps, I am so excited and honored that you have chosen our city of Charleston to be featured as an official edition of Monopoly! I would like to offer Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim (KKBE) as a suggestion and to be represented as a property on the Monopoly board. Charleston is home to many houses of worship with great historical significance. Charleston is one of the oldest Jewish communities in America and KKBE is the oldest, continuously active synagogue in the United States. It is the birthplace of Reform Judaism in America, and the congregation’s sanctuary is a fixture and historical landmark in downtown Charleston. KKBE even has a distinct honor of continually ranking in the Top 10 list of Things to Do in Charleston on Tripadvisor! Featuring KKBE on the board, along with other houses of worship from different religions, speaks directly to the idea that Charleston is also known as the Holy City and is a diverse and thriving community. Inclusion in this edition would be an honor to the synagogue, the Jewish community at large and all of Charleston as KKBE has had such a significant role in the city’s history. I truly hope you will accept this suggestion and feature Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim as a property on the Charleston edition of Monopoly. Thank you!
